I was Kev and Caroles bestman . Really surprised when Kev phoned me and asked me, and i immediately said yes, and was honoured and proud . I picked Kev up on the day of the wedding, and as we drove to the church, i was asking him if he was sure he wanted to get married, as i considered being 21 years old was far too young. I even pulled the car over in Heavitree Fore St, and said that now was

the time to change his mind, and i would drive him any where he wanted . He was insistent that he wanted to marry the girl of his life, because they loved each other so much. At the reception i made my speech, but before ,someone had given me an item of clothing that Carole wore in bed, which i duly presented to everyone - knee length black and red horizontal striped smelly socks ! What a honeymoon that must have been. The point was to embarrass Carole ( as well as Kev , which was my main job ), which she was, and i often wondered if she still wore them . Too early,Carole .
